Building Muscle with Flap Jacks

One of my favorite uses for protein powder is using it to make protein powder pancakes! They may not sound that delicious but trust me, they are definitely a quick, healthy recipe for those of us trying to maintain muscle or a healthy body weight. I use whey protein powder but you can use any type of powder you like.


  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 tbs cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbs nutmeg
  • 1 or 2 scoops whey protein powder chocolate or vanilla


I like to add fruit and Better n Butter peanut butter on top of mine! Feel free to add almonds or your favorite butter. If you like sweeter pancakes you may want to add maple syrup or stevia.

1Combine eggs, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, cottage cheese, sugar and protein in blender.
2Pour in cut up fruit.
3Spray nonstick skillet & heat on medium.
4Pour 1 large pancake.
5Let bubble on outer edges & flip (watch carefully as they could burn).
6Cook until done on both sides.
7Serve with butter and syrup.
